Mount Hope Housing Authority was established in 1937 to offer housing opportunities serving the residents of the City of Mount Hope and Fayette County, in West Virginia.

The Mount Hope Housing Authority administers 135 Public Housing Units and provides public housing for eligible low-income families, persons with disabilities, and the elderly. Mount Hope Housing Authority does not offer HCV (Housing Choice Vouchers), previously Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers. The housing programs at Mount Hope Housing Authority are income based and the eligibility guidelines are set by HUD (United States Department of Housing and Urban Development).

Mission Statement:

"The overall mission of the Mount Hope Housing Authority is to provide housing for low-income families that is decent, safe, sanitary, and in good repair, on a continuing basis."
